BSG spoiler... for the last ep, 3rd season.

I figured out how Starbuck blew up but didn't die.

Remember the pilot, aboard Colonial One, when it appeared that Lee, Roslin, and the entire ship had been destroyed by a Cylon nuke?

I'm guessing instead that, since the Cylons have the technology to make clones- full grown out of factories... that when they captured her awhile back--- either it wasn't the real Starbuck that went back in the first place; or it was, but....(groan) she's a Cylon, too--- therefore, she can die and be reborn in a new body, over and over again.

In any case, it stretches the credibility of the whole series thinner and thinner....
(Don't get me wrong, I'm addicted to the show, but it's definitely far far different from how the miniseries began. Too many rebirths and clones imo).

I doubt it, only because the massive faux 'explosion' was seen on DRADIS; it wouldn't have appeared that the ships blew up to the naked eye. I should do my homework a bit more on this, but I believe that the device that Lee used in the miniseries trigged an electric sonic boom of sorts which is not something that looks like a physical explosion. Just sounds and feels a lot like one, and therefore got picked up like one on DRADIS.

I also highly doubt that Kara's a Cylon. That would be a shitty way out, not to mention very anti-climatic. Her behaviorisms in the first episode of season four make me believe that this is a completely different Kara Thrace.

I sort of remember seeing it onscreen, too--but I don't mean to go back and rewatch.

As far as whether she's a cylon... it would be a cop-out and kind of obvious, and so far RM has not done obvious things. I think it would make the most sense for it to be Baltar. If we're going for least-likely regular ... my money's on Doc Cottle, since Tigh is already spoken for. But I've said elsewhere, I think this could be an altered clone of the original Kara. Just because the Cylons' usually clone themselves is no reason to think they can't clone humans--it's all human DNA anyway.
