Writing in the comm has been hit and miss lately, mostly miss, as the last five Inspiration Days have resulted in exactly ZERO fic.

Billy chanced a look over at his boss and felt the weight on his chest lift when he saw her smiling apologetically, an almost playful plea for forgiveness dancing in her tired eyes

I really like the way Laura comes to him. She acknowledges each of them did things to regret, and buries the hatchet, and makes sure he understands she requires him to continue to be him, and all without apologizing. Her approach in itself is the apology, the mea culpa.

I love the admission to some selfishness woven in with acknowledgement of how Billy must be feeling. Very caring and strong, not denying reality but giving him permission to come in, even with the feelings it provokes in both of them.
