laptop fail

Tried to use my new laptop at the place where WPA is required last night, it worked about as well as it did when I had OpenBSD on my old T23. It never connected, never indicated any problem, nothing ever happened. Without any kind of error messages, tracking down the problem is kind of a pain; I'm just trying different things and seeing what ( Read more... )

I live in a remote area with few neighbors and run mine unsecured because I couldn't get my son's mac or my daughter's aging XP-only fob to work together on the same security setting.

Which may be the reason I don't have any connection issues with my ubutnu T60.

I wish I had something more to offer.

Good luck. :P No particular suggestions other than making sure you agree with your AP on wpa[N]-[method] and AES/TKIP/etc..

That's probably it, the happy GUI tool doesn't let me specify that but it's surely in config file somewhere...
