Interesting question: Does the DOMA ruling mean that married couples who were required to file Federal Income Tax returns as single now have to refile as married? I don't know the answer to this one. (I am not a lawyer or tax guy).
they dont have to but they can if they were married in one of the states that alow it after it was law. They can also amended their tax return for the last three years or from when they were married. basicly if they arnt bumped up in tax brackets they can get about 6k back per year
