Mary Anne and Miss Priss! Part 2!

Feb 17, 2017 20:35

Oh, my gosh, my lovelies, I am so sorry for not getting this up sooner. I have no excuse. I was just playing Sims. And I wasn't even playing a BSC file so I don't even have any amusing screenshots. Plus they changed how to upload custom content so I was downloading a bunch of skins. But I found some great stuff for my BSC game which means I'll have ( Read more... )

OMG! You're right! What a stupid thing to overlook! This is what I mean about Ann making her characters idiots because she thinks so little of her readers! I am 1000% positive the BSC has used the word book in that sense. Aaaahh! This books are so stupid!

It's just pathetic a bunch of teenage girls see this and her own parents aren't seeing it

Isn't it though? I mean I get that the focus of the series is the BSC but so many story lines end up being about child neglect because the parents are so clueless about what's going on with their own kids.

Dawn said the thing about Tigger before she knew about Jenny. She was just being her usual delightful self by telling Mary Anne how annoying she thought her cherished pet was first thing in the conversation.

I agree. They could have come up with a better way of giving the BSC issues and worries about the kids they babysit without making their parents complete idiots. Or wonder why CPS isn't being called.

I'm pretty sure Jenny was just faking the headache for attention (and to clarify, I mean that in the supportive "because she wasn't getting attention in other ways" sense).

For the sake of explaining things, why not have Jenny ask the questions? I mean, she's four and interested in auditions, it'd make sense for her to be asking about everything.

Probably the hardest part about proving to Jenny that she's loved is that it isn't her parents worrying about it, just the babysitters who act like she's horrible for not wanting to get dirty.

Heee, kitty eating noodles!

Yeah, I'm sure Jenny was just trying to get some attention by saying she had a headache. Or that she was actually feeling down and didn't know how to deal with it.

The ironic part is Jenny knows everything Mrs P is talking about and Mary Anne is the idiot. You could say it's because Jenny's been around while Mrs P takes Andrea to auditions but the real answer is Ann sucks at writing.

I mean, the easiest thing in the world would be to pay attention to Jenny and make her feel loved, but that's just beyond the BSC's comprehension. Because they're so good with kids and all.

Mary Anne mildly panics and is also nosy so she asks where Mrs P will be if she gets really sick. Mrs P doesn't tell he

Good for MA for insisting on knowing where Mrs. P. would be. What a fucking AWFUL parent Mrs. P. is for trying to withhold this information!!

She also doesn't know what a storyboard is.

Not really so common knowledge back in the 90's. Before the days of YouTube and director's cuts and special features, this is the sort of thing that wasn't really known well.

And again, Ann has the BSC do things a parent should be doing by having Mary Anne stay with Jenny at her photo shoot while she takes Andrea to an audition.

I will never not be amazed at how hard the parents in these books try to get out of raising their own kids.

On Thursday, Mary Anne goes with Mrs P to be dropped off at the photographers.

Minors kinda need legal guardians with them for things like this. It's a liability issue.

Mary Anne and Jenny wait for Mr Gautier, the photographer. No way, no how, would an adult male be allowed to have a ( ... )

It really is sad. The poor girl.

It really is sad. All she wants is a little attention and to hear she's just as loved as her sister and no one does that for her. Not even her own mother.

Heaven forbid Ann has her characters remember something

Ann is terrible at having her characters retain any knowledge. No one ever says 'Oh, it's like that time with so and so.' And no one ever learns anything. How many Stacey plot lines are about her treating everyone like garbage because she likes a boy? Everyone just forgets what they learn from one book to the next.

They know what "books" mean even in Stoneybrook I mean has that never come up on I Love Lucy?

It drives me crazy how Ann over explains everything and dumbs down her characters to do so. I always felt insulted that she thought I was too dumb to know what basic words meant.

Has Ann never watched the news or any news show? Girls being tricked into going to fake modeling assignments? A thirteen year old and four year old girl at photo shoot? What could go wrong?Ann really should ( ... )
