I really wish Ann had just stayed away from the sensitive real stuff and just continued writing tween girl fantasies about a bunch of middle schoolers becoming the best babysitters in the world and doing things way too mature for their age.--Or at least have the nerve to admit "I don't know my ass from a hole in the ground and these subjects require more than 5 minutes of research. Let me get writers that know what the hell they're writing about

I'm wondering where Claudia's perfect parents have been the past 116 books...because I think the Kishis are pretty shitty. Yes, Claudia needs to focus better in school, but they don't encourage her artistic talent and can't even be happy that she reads! Who cares if they're Nancy Drews? They're BOOKS! And there's like several hundred of them counting the Case Files and other series...so at least she's picking up some love of reading/learning under the radar.

I bet if the Kishis let Claudia read Nancy Drew without fuss they'd see her start to venture into other books. Right now, they've given her no reason to try other books because she'll probably be banned from those too.

And I want to third that Richard Spier is one of the only adults in the 'brook whose brain has not been taken over by fungus.
