Hahaha, Chris and his whipped cream machine. There's a euphemism I haven't heard.

Oh, wait, I think it was in the other snark. Well, a euphemism I haven't heard in a while.

Oh, that Chris. Yeah, I'm staying away from reading her snark on this book until I get finished with each of my sections so it doesn't influence me, but it's funny to go back and see the things we've both picked up on (and the things I missed!).

lol Mary Anne is the queen of backhanded compliments. I say this all the time, and it always rings true.

And I feel bad for Jackie...he's a sweet kid, but he's always written to sound like a cartoon character! Seriously, this stuff sounds like AMM pulled it out of a Bugs Bunny cartoon. All he needs is to slip on a banana peel and fall down a flight of stairs into a frying pan with bacon and eggs in it.

She totally is. "Mallory's skin was catching up to her freckles." NICE.

The worst part about Jackie is that they all act like this isn't old news by now. Jackie's a klutz. He spills things. He's constantly sticking appendages where appendages should not go. WE ALL KNOW.

I'm glad you pointed that out about MA not clearing her plans with Stacey either. That annoyed me so much when I first read the book as a kid and MA told Stacey, I have plans tonight too, and was appalled when Stacey immediately didn't turn off the iron and run to call Toby and cancel. That's not to say that Stacey wasn't a bitch, or that the girls shouldn't have worked it out through some rock-paper-scissors action, but MA was acting just as entitled and selfish as Stacey was there, she's just less aggressive about it.

Passive-aggression should be Mary Anne's middle name (if her middle name wasn't already Anne, that is).

dont think it is her middle name... I think it's her full FIRST name... hence the usage...
heck if i know if she has an actual middle name though, never mentioned. i guess it could serve as both Lol

Chocolate soda sounds gross.

I think Jackie is secretly the kid of Roger Rabbit.

It's... okay. A drive-in in my hometown serves it. A little goes a long way, but in moderation, it's not too bad. Diet chocolate soda, however, is Satan's nectar.

Ahahaha, "Kristy, can I get a cookie, puh-puh-puh-puh-pleeeeeeze!"

lol chocolate soda is kind of nasty, but I'm guessing that meant like a chocolate ice cream soda here, which would make it a totally different thing.

I always just assumed Ice-Cream Palace was a family-run business and the 12-year-old kid was their son or something.

Oh, you know, you could be right. Seems like the kind of place that would be family-owned.
