I'm not sure why AMM has such a boner for bratty children. Stephie, Charlotte, Jenny, the Perkinses (they're ridiculous Sues but they're well-behaved and seem like fun) and possibly Jackie are the only kids I can imagine liking to spend time with from these books.

I'd flat-out refuse to sit for Karen and David Michael, the Kormans (a nine year old who thinks the toilet is a monster, a seven year old who wants to be treated like a cat and a toddler with a severe phobia to the point of not being able to hear the word "cat" just seems exhausting), the Pikes, the Barretts (they're not "impossible" but they ARE annoying) and pretty much everyone else except for the babies (Squirt and Lucy sound adorable, but Becca and Jamie not so much. They're not bratty, though, just annoying in Becca's case and nauseatingly pwecious in Jamie's case.)

Nailed it. I would totally adore Jackie, and would more than likely take every job with the Perkins kids I could. I would sit for pre-Watson David Michael, and wouldn't mind Andrew. I absolutely adore Emily Michelle, too, and she seems like she was adopted and just kinda thrown into the pit of swarming, screaming kids to fend for herself

Dawn says she's "ashamed to say" that she's not having fun because Carol is present and "not proud to say" that she greeted her at the door with "What are you doing here?" but apparently isn't bothered enough to change her behavior--Dawn is a huge bitch with NO manners at all

She sounds awesome. And now that I'm Carol's age I seem to attract teenagers who are pissed off with high school bullshit, and I'm nice to them because high school aged people often suck. When I was 13 one of my best friends was 20, and we're still friends. Maybe if Dawn wasn't in a cult she'd get it. I'm surprised Mallory doesn't attach herself to Carol, since everyone her own age treats her like crap (including her "best friend

I can't remember if that was the same book or not, as Dawn seems to torment Carol relentlessly for no reason and Carol just tries to shrug it off. I think they went on 2nd or 3rd dates, once Jack met the woman and decided she wasn't into human trafficking or anything.

I don't think Whitney was ever mentioned again, even though it said Whitney was an "honorary" member of the WLKC and would be kind of like a sitters helper on select jobs, because she did prove to Dawn and Sunny that she was good with kids. She must have been tossed into the "used" pile of "characters that we'll never mention again", along with Ashley and Stacey's "cool" new friends who like to drink at concerts.

ey, Dawn, nobody's making you go anywhere. But Carol is offering a HUGE favor to you guys and she's NEVER DONE ANYTHING TO YOU EXCEPT EXIST. Someone needs to beat your spoiled ass.-I wonder how the princess would feel if Carol just told them to take a fucking cab or the bus to the beach every day. I bet a cab to some of the places they want to go would drain that lotto money quickly!

I'm PRETTY SURE you can't wash-out dye your hair a LIGHTER color than the one it is now, but I have virgin hair; wtf do I know?-I never dyed a hair a lighter color, I've only rinsed it; but I do know dark hair will not become lighter with just washout dye. I know this just by reading the back of the damn boxes, you'd think she'd realize that.

I've never dyed my hair, but I always thought if you wanted to go from dark to light, you had to bleach it first.
I was always scared to dye my hair, it seems like when it comes to make up, clothes, hair, and nailpolish, I'm wearing a "kick me" sign and I was always afraid i'd bleach it or dye it, fuck up bad, and fry my hair right out of my head. Or the hair dye I bought was somehow mislabeled at the factory and I now had to walk around with purple or green hair. (I got nothing against brightly dyed hair; it's just not my "thing").

Thank you! And yeah, if Dawn hates being driven around for free so much, why doesn't she spend her lottery windfall on cabs? It takes a special kind of spoiled brat to bitch about something like that. Ugh.

Someone does. As you point out Carol's being nice to offer to drive
her and her friends around.

Stacey makes a big deal about Carol agreeing to drive Mal and Jessi all the
way to Hollywood to visit the Max Factor museum. I'm surprised Claudia and
Stacey didn't want to do that.

So am I. That sounds like something they'd enjoy.
