Yeah, because criminals NEVER use false names.... In real life, the cops would so more than run a name. They might watch a house to see if the person's physical appearance is similar enough to justify knocking in the door.
Abby admits that what she and Kristy did next was stupid and we shouldn’t do it. I’m shocked a BSC member can actually admit they did something stupid.
It's an in-universe "don't try this at home" for liability reasons.
He also says he’ll be talking to Mr. Finch, so just lay low because Mr. Finch is dangerous.
And also because breaking and entering to take evidence in an illegal manner makes it invalid to use in court. A warrant would have made that picture legal evidence. Kristy and Abby ruined that.
