Claudia Gets Her Guy! Part The End!

Oh, wow. I am so sorry on slacking on this snark. I was not feeling in the mood to do anything. That's the fun of living with depression, dears. I had so much work piled up that I just couldn't get myself up to doing. But, I'm feeling better and getting my work done, so here we are. I'm also sorry for the sloppy ending this snark gets. Not only ( Read more... )

Yeah, I was a spoiled little shit so sometimes my mum would come at lunch time and either bring me take-out or actually pull me from school to go eat something. I'm surprised I had any friends at all with that level of spoil. So, maybe Alan's mom brought it but that's highly doubtful. Ann's just a shitty writer is all.

Proving that Ann lives in a world of complete insane fantasy, Alan takes Claud into a classroom at lunch where he has a fancy set up with a tablecloth, fine china, and and Burger King.

How would no teacher have noticed this going on in a classroom? NOT ALLOWED. Students aren't allowed to be in classrooms like this!

I dunno, it always bugged me that Claudia didn't take the time to learn from Mimi.

She took Mimi being there for granted.

She'd pick hanging out with an average looking guy for five minutes over a working pancreas.

LOL

Jesus could come up on a unicorn and offer her perfect health, unlimited funds, and absolute happiness in exchange for never dating again and she'd turn it down What would you do if you had to choose ( ... )

Not only did they have a classroom to themselves, but he had a lit candle in there? I swear SMS is the sloppiest run school in any fictional universe. Even Hogwarts had some rules like don't go get yourself killed in that killing forest.

Claudia ended up with Alan. I think. It's pretty vague but she did say she and Jeremy would remain friends and then enjoyed her slow dance with Alan. But she doesn't say for sure that they're an official couple.

When the title is about "getting her guy," it shouldn't be a random guy, and it should be clear. Holy HELL, the writing in these books got sloppy!

What's with these guys who don't take no for answer or even just be friends? Logan, that guy who liked Abby, and now Alan. Its weird.

What’s Jeremy’s problem? He says he’s not interested in Claudia, then sulks because she’s talking to him but not JUST him, she also had the nerve to talk to Alan - I tried to like him when he was first introduced (I usually have trouble accepting new characters; I’m still trying to adjust to Puss In Boots, and he was introduced in the second Shrek!) but he can’t have everything he wants. That’s some Logan-level possession right there. And it’s creepy, so now I think he’s a jerk.

“Love is so complex!” - People usually use ‘complicated’ long before they learn ‘complex’, Claudia. Anyway, just wait until you’re all grown up. It gets harder ‘complexer’ and you can’t even blame your mistakes on teenage hormones and a lack of parental attention (without looking pathetic ( ... )

I had totally forgotten about this snark/book because it’s been five years since I was reading snarks regularly and never read this book at all . . . but again, Jeremy’s sulking because Claudia’s getting attention from another boy while he ignores her is frustrating. Either you like the girl enough to be possessive, or you don’t give a damn; you can’t do both. And you should never be possessive, anyway, because people aren’t toys you can love one day and feel nothing about the next.

I hate it when girls (and writers) treat each other like the enemy. Stephanie Boxer would do better to tell ALAN that she likes him, not just tell every other girl in the school to stay away. It’s like all the dumb drama when a guy cheats on his girlfriend and the girlfriend and new girl get mad at each other, like the guy is totally innocent.

Mimi also wanted to teach Claudia knitting, IIRC, and Claudia was always like, Oh yeah, Grandma, that’s cute, but I’m too cool for it . . . up until Peaches gets pregnant and Claudia decides she wants to learn to ( ... )
