Chapter 6

I just got back from my vacation. I went to Vegas with my family for a week. We also visited California to see Santa Monica and Hollywood and Arizona to see the Grand Canyon. I saw these purses that were made out of candy wrappers and immediately thought of Claudia because art and junk food. Then I wondered if Claudia made a purse like ( Read more... )

Yay! I was mad because my laptop crashed but when I got it back up and running I see a new snark by you!

Does she have to offer the job around to the rest of the BSC?

Kristy has been asked to baby-sit at the last minute and never said anything about offering the job around. She just got all butthurt because she had plans.

Stacey references Mary Anne’s haircut and how hurt they were about it.

This will always be one of the stupidest, most annoying things ever in the series. Who the Hell gets that upset over their friend getting a haircut? I swear I will never get over that.

Of course, the BSC being understaffed only seems to come up occasionally as a plot point.

And ain't that the dumbest thing? Why why WHY can they not just take on some associate members. Like with Wendy? Make her an associate! This isn't rocket science! Even my Sims can do rocket science!

Carol thinks Dawn is upset. Jack thinks she isn’tUh, what? WHy does Jack think she's not upset? He should know that his own daughter isn't exactly thrilled about his dating ( ... )

I don't think Jack was being an idiot. I think he was trying to soothe his fiancée. Dawn was having a teenaged fit, and Carol strikes me as the type who cares very much about people around her being upset. In Jack's shoes, I'd probably tell Carol that Dawn is fine too.

Ah, that makes sense. I'm so used to Jack being kind of a jackass that I don't attribute him with any sense.

I'm a mom who at least tries to see the parents' POV in these books. Fortunately for me, most of the time they don't do things that make sense. This is one of those times where Jack's reaction is reasonable. Sharon's was too. Wow. Effective co-parenting where the kid didn't get her way. Her ass got sent back without getting a little party. I do think it was the right thing to still let her see Mary Anne since it would have been a punishment to Mary Anne to have to avoid her sister when MA wasn't the one who misbehaved.

Since it's normal for older siblings to help watch the younger ones, I wonder if the Pikes have to pay Mal if she's asked to watch the kids while, say Mrs. P, makes a quick run to the store while Mr. P. is at work.

Now I’m imagining the BSC having creepy smiles on their faces and insisting that Kristy really does have the best ideas despite someone telling them that her idea was really stupid while Kristy glares at them in the background and twirls a knife threateningly.--lmao, I'm thinking of that Roseanne episode when David is working at a place similar to Disney World. Remember how David and the other employees were acting ( ... )

On the last minute sitting jobs, does Kristy not understand the meaning of 'last minute'? There's no time to be calling a bunch of girls and asking if they want a job. It's so incredibly stupid. And there have been times where one of them will take a job, out of the meeting time at the last minute, yet only Wendy was chastised about this? What a load of bullshit.

And about Kristy getting a bug up her butt about the W♥KC getting on tv, my BFF is going to have her own art show. I...probably never will, but I am stoked as Hell for her. It's awesome! The only thing that makes me unhappy about that is that she's in Seattle and I'm in Phoenix. And I wouldn't go to our art galleries and demand they give me a show just to one up her. I've said it before, but Kristy is a terrible 'friend'. She's mean and petty and unforgiving of the other girls if they don't grovel at her feet. If I was a fanfic writer, I'd write about them overthrowing her and running the club without her and her shitty ideas and rules.

Kristy's bad idea was starting this cult.

I shudder to think about what Kristy would be like with telepathy. She would probably yell at a person for not thinking about children and other BSC related activities constantly. I once worked in direct marketing, aka getting out friends to give us the numbers of all their friends to call and see if they want a demonstration of cutlery and, if so, go to their homes, do a demo, and try getting them to buy, and to give us more phone numbers. During part of training, we were literally ordered to "Always be thinking about Cutco." I have a friend who worked for Dialog Direct (company that employes those kids to go corner you in the street to try getting you to sponsor a child and to make you feel bad if you won't, and she was also told to always be thinking about the children. Won't someone think of the children? Kristy would make a good "Dialoger ( ... )

I remember Randy Zak is Girl Talk also being critical of a guy her mom was dating because he are Thai food with a fork. Funny thing is, they don't use chopsticks in Thailand at all--they use forks to push the food on spoons, as I recall. Silly early 90s middle school series ghostwriters!
