I disagree with a lot of this author's conclusions. Plus on a couple of covers she got the characters wrong, which is just annoying. I know the cover of "Dawn and the We <3 Kids Club" is a tad confusing since they're all blonde, but only one has very light blonde hair, so that's obviously Dawn.

I thought some of her commentary was off too - unnecessarily snotty. There's a fine line between funny snark and mean riffing. :(

Any list that doesn't immediately place Kristy and the Baby Parade as the worst ever (I don't care how cute Emily Michelle is, the whole cover offends my eyes so much that all I see is ugly) is automatically disqualified. :P

Yes. Agreed. I didn't think Dawn's denim on denim ensemble was the worst ever. I saw plenty of others that were much more fug than that. I think she just let her Dawn hate cloud her judgement.

I'm with you. She made no secret she hated Dawn. And Dawn's denim on denim was the height of fashion when that book was first printed. If you're going to write fashion critiques of the covers, at least have some fashion history knowledge to your credit. Many of the outfits she panned in the 80s/early to mid 90s were VERY in style and hot for the times. That's when I was in middle and high school. Oversized shirts were the thing. You couldn't buy skinny jeans back then, so the few times she credited Kristy or someone with wearing them, I was like, "This was 1992, they didn't HAVE them then!" Same goes for the "mom jeans". They weren't "mom jeans" then, they were the jeans you bought in the store because that's what the style was!

Can't help but be a bit disappointed it's just cover outfits. It'd be nice if someone went through and decided which was the most memorable of Claudia's outfits. Me, if forced to choose, would pick her Pebbles outfit. Everyone remembers that ensemble. Bonus points if you remember which book she wore it in.

I know it's horrible, but #115 shouldn't count. I mean, it's a WORK OUTFIT. How many people looked good in their high school/middle school work outfits?

The absolutely nailed it with no.22 on the list - Stacey’s Secret Friend:
"on the cover of this book, Tess is so clearly the coolest kid at school and the only one of the girls you’d even bother to hang out with in the first place. Pink overalls with a pink flowered shirt underneath, plus thick-framed black glasses?! Tess is a badass and Stacey needs help."
Could not have said it better my self. Tess 4 Life!

I love Tess because she's so much like me and a friend of mine. We rock the kawaii and pinkness and don't care what anyone else thinks :D
