I can't begin to tell you how jealous I am that you have cat cafes. But I guess it's a good thing because I'd be spending host club amounts of money at them.
There is so much weirdness about this book, I don't even know where to start.
I love that the twins went as Tweedle Dum & Tweedle Dee...though I bet they don't look quite as good as these guys. Also, my sister and her friend went as Dum & Dee one year and they looked awesome! They sewed hula hoops into their pants so they looked extra big, and nobody mistook them for munchkins. And that's probably the only nice thing I have to say about the book

And yeah, the book could have been interesting, like you said--Mary Anne does have good intentions, but I don't think it's a bad thing for kids to learn that what seems like a really good idea to them might look different to adults, or that some situations might be more complicated than they realize. It's not that I think Mrs. Kuhn should have run them out of town or something, but it would not at all have been bad for the resolution to be less one-sided. And DEFINITELY involve more of Mary Anne actually doing something to resolve it.
Also, I'm 99% sure we never hear about Logan and Jake again, and I honestly find THAT pretty creepy--it's just not healthy for a kid to be so emotionally dependent on another kid to the point that not seeing him for a week causes major unhappiness and moping. It's not healthy for Jake, but it's also not really healthy--or fair--for Logan to have that responsibility foisted on him.
Vanessa's call to Alan Gray for advice/help on how to be disgusting (and that Mallory suggested it) - oh, to be a fly on the wall for that conversation!
just want to say your snarks are AWESOME! the lolcats are always perfect for the content/context&you are funny as hell. :) thank you for the lols, lady!
