You guys. YOU GUYS. I picked this book to snark because I vaguely remembered that it hadn't aged all that well, and then I opened it up and remembered that it had the WORST PICTURES IN THE HISTORY OF ART. It is worth a read if only to gape at the pictures and try to imagine the meeting at Scholastic where someone managed to convince an editor they ( Read more... )

The perspective is bothering me on the last picture. Shouldn't the vertical stripes be at an angle? The squares should be getting bigger as they go towards the camera.

I decided thaat everything is ind of glued to a wall, and the person who took the picture was standing right in front of it... Ugh, why am I trying to make those pictures make sense?

Okay, I officially can't read this at work anymore. It's getting too difficult to suppress my lulz. I'll have to finish at home *sigh*

Jesus, Jimmy, if you're that embarrassed about it, just change your underwear.

I can't quote everything in here that made me laugh out loud and nearly sporfle my root beer but good lord, that line just about did me in. I adore your snarkage. Can't wait to read more.

Also - thank you, I really needed a laugh today. :)

"sophisticated" seems to mean `big bazooms' in Stoneybrook. it also can be stretched to include glittery nail polish, knowing stock foreign phrases, or being from a large urban area (FUCK YEAH).

Fantastic snark! I love reading your posts. This is one of my all-time favorite Super Specials. It's so chock full of things that are easy to make fun of.

The photos in this book are AWFUL! If those are the photos that go in the memory book...yikes.

I recently re-read this and there's one thing that bothers me. Sam and Charlie are on this trip and they get no storyline! They are mentioned once in passing, as taking care of David Michael one day.

The secret adventures of Charlie and Sam on the Ocean Princess needs to be written. Seriously. Can you just imagine Sam trying to hit on Alexandra Carmody? Or perhaps Janine sneaks onto the boat and she and Charlie have a hidden romance?

I can't imagine they hung out with Watson and Elizabeth all day.
