Earthquake rattles Illinois

(CNN) -- A magnitude-5.2 earthquake, centered 131 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri, shook southern Illinois early Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

I don't believe it would have been possible to feel that quake here in KC. Having said that, I did grow up about 20 miles from the New Madrid fault line (the second largest in the US, next to the San Andreas) and grew up feeling tremors and stuff. It always makes me laugh when people freak out about that stuff.

Personally, the fact that we seem to have more ways to die naturally than anywhere else is one of the things that make me proud to live in the midwest. ;)
