Wooooooo

Jul 23, 2007 06:32

It's 6:33 a.m. and I just finished reading Deathly Hallows after starting it around 1:45 a.m.

Damn. Is it me or is it just... a little underwhelming? And the epilogue, wtf. Seriously, that was weird.

Hmmm...I didn't think it was underwhelming. Certainly, there were a few things that could have been done without. But overall, as I said in my own post, it engaged the senses. It seems like much of the fandom, though, is in agreement about the epilogue...from what I've seen anyway, heh.

P.S. You read DH fast!

I don't know... I actually didn't like this book; I thought it tried to go in too many directions at once and so there were many things that were introduced as important but not fleshed out fully enough for my liking. I don't really see the point of the Hallows, either - couldn't there just have been a legendary super-powerful wand? The stone of resurrection seemed like a useless add-on, and the cloak didn't really have any significance, as it seemed like it was just used the same way as in previous books. I loved the other books, but this one was quite disappointing. I actually remember thinking halfway through that I'd read fanfics more interesting than this! ...And then I felt blasphemous for thinking that.

The epilogue was so radically different and just strange; it felt like she just lifted and edited a bad piece of fic from FF.net.

I know! I was really surprised that I read it so fast. It took me two days to read HBP.

I haven`t finished the book yet due to working all weekend but I DID read the epilogue. I like it. At least she didn`t kill Harry off. I might feel differently after reading the whole book though. >___>

Yeah, the book as a whole just felt like there were too many things thrown in there and not explained. The image of an older, balding Draco made me laugh, though. I wonder why his wife isn't identified. And seriously, who names their kid Albus Severus Potter? Those names just don't go well together. XD

I know right. I just went O___O when I saw that he named his son that. I guess he ran outta sons to name so he crammed a double first name.

I made a face when I saw that Draco named his son Scorpius. Seriously, those two kids are gonna get the crap beat out of them with names like that, lol.

I just find it funny that all the cracks and jokes I made about HP were true.
