I am long-winded. Even more so than usual.

I seem to be making up for my lack of updates by being horrifyingly wordy in what few updates I make. Hmm.

Firstly, I seem to have won a couple of awards at the Alias Festival of Fic, which is particularly flattering considering I didn't even really pimp myself. Love and (probably gay) sex to whoever voted for me, and whoever nominated me, too ( Read more... )

personal, movies, alias, come with me if you want to live

I went into T-3 dreading it. I'd heard things. I'd read things. My closest friend said "at the end, well, there won't be anymore." So my husband dragged me kicking and screaming to the movie.

My reaction to the chase scene was similar to yours. I used some of it to rifle through my bag for some Raisinets so it wasn't completely a waste of my time.

I ended up loving Stahl as John Connor against my will. I found I didn't miss Linda Hamilton.

But the end. Wow. I walked out of there and thought "there's a million and one ways they can go with this now."

I'm all wordy in your journal. I'll stop now. ;-)

Uh, wordy? See above, wherein Brynn goes on for four pages about an action movie. I don't know if anyone could possibly be wordier than I am... but you're welcome to give it a shot. :) Seriously, I'm all about discussion on this topic--craving it, actually, since none of my friends around here share my excitement about T3. So if you've got more to say, please do!

Anyway, yes, I agree. I am very anxious to see where this goes. Though if Arnold wins for Governor, we may have to wait a few years...

Dude, you achieved great things in the FOF on your own merits ;) I swear there wasn't... too much bias. But you rock, and you deserve it more than I can say. Yay you! Congrats, gorgeous.

Thank you! :) And I love the Tori icon. One of my favorite songs of hers.

Man. What a rant. Fascinating to read. I was similarly obsessed with T2 back in high school, was 15 at the time and me and my best friend just went crazy for Eddie FUrlong as John Connor. We suffered through Pet Smentary for him. We had quotes from T2 memorized and all over our school stuff as well. (Easy money! with that special drawl :-) etc.) I was crushed when I found out about John's recasting. Crushed. But Nick did do a great job. T3 is not T2, but it's good enough.

But I'm here about the FoF. Not me. I didn't even find out about the FoF till after the deadline for nominations. So... But congracts again - you deserved it, muchly.

Oh my god. You just described my experience exactly. I snuck into Pet Sematary 2 (I was still under 17), even though I detest horror movies, and felt very naughty. I still frequently think "eaaaasy money" when I'm at the ATM. :) (Except that it's not at all easy.) Pretty frightening, that I can still recite most of the lines from that movie with the exact inflections the actors gave them, Eddie's voice-cracking and all. That's hilarious. I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one affected. :) Have you seen Detroit Rock City? Also featuring Eddie, and as far as I remember, a pretty decent little movie.

T3 is not T2, but it's good enough.Generally, I agree. I used to think T1 was my favorite... I thought if you could have the story of T1 with the effects of T2, you'd have the perfect movie. But now, watching T2 again, I can see how they took more time with character ( ... )

The cracking! Me and my friend used to LOVE that about his voice and how it affected his lines. It gave it that little extra something, don't you think? I haven't seen Detroit Rock City, but I watched a prison movie with Eddie recently, with Williem Defoe, forgot the title. I remember that at the same timne that T2 came out, Aerosmith's "Living On The Edge" video came out as well. Only added to the fannish droolage. Ah, good times. Hard to believe it's been ten years.

T2 was always my favorite. It was so dark and yet so fun, and the music was just so haunting. I like T1 a lot, even though I hadn't even seen it when I first saw T2.

I missed this long lovely post while I was on my LJ sojourn. Reese? Sarah? Her nightmare? The hotel room? Mmm. 'Terminator' is one of, like, 3 DVDs I own.

And...(whines) are you back from your vacation yet? Did you have the apple turnovers? Did you bring any back for me?

Just back. Yes, there were apple turnovers... and a host of other yummy things that I shouldn't have been eating. Worth it, though. And no, I'm sorry, I didn't think the turnovers would make it to Colorado intact... maybe I could have my brother bring one with him when the fam gets together in Denver for Christmas. :) I did bring back a Boston cream pie for the fiance, though, which was quite an endeavor. Those suckers don't travel too well. But I hear the results were good.

Terminator. Yes. First movie I actually bought for myself, I believe. Now I want the DVD... I'm wondering what the likelihood is that they're going to release a three-DVD set of the first three, and whether I should just wait till the inevitable fourth movie comes out on DVD. Decisions, decisions.
