Man do I not want to work today.

I have a question for you, internets: how do you manage your music, electronically speaking? I have an ooooooold iPod and I'm pretty sure it's going to die soon, so I am trying to figure out the best thing to get next. ( here is my deal )

The LotR commentaries and special features are best watched with a group of fangirls. And booze.

Belatedly, due to Giant To Do List issues...

I use an iPod, but I hate iTunes with a fiery passion. I have waaaaaay more music, acquired by various methods, than will fit on the iPod and it's all stored on a neat little 1Tb external hard drive. At home I play my music from the external drive using foobar2000 which I really like because it's simple and because one of its options is to display my music 'by file structure'. That last one is such a big deal for me - my directories are painstakingly organised so that I know what's what and can readily find anything. iTunes tries to impose its worldview on me and I don't want it.

To transfer from hard drive to iPod I use CopyTrans which allows a comfortable drag & drop transfer between devices.

(Hi! Playing catch up...) Those LotR gifs are amazing and now I'm wondering why I never listened to the commentaries. Must remedy that! Thanks!
