THE HIGHEST COMPLIMENT ONE CAN BESTOW, I FEEL. AND RICHLY DESERVED. (OMG BABY POLAR BEARS!!!1!)

RIGHT? I was actually struck by how very little she's changed, physically (at least after the first couple of seasons of The OC), and how her mannerisms are still EXACTLY the same. By which I mean MOST ADORABLE. Oh Rachel. I love you. <33333

I also discovered Into the Woods while randomly stumbling upon it on PBS! Although I did see the second half. But I missed the beginning, too. Hee.

I am way less excited about the Chris Pine casting then you are. And the idea of it as a movie in general. Though I don't know why - normally I would be All About that and for some reason this one makes me twitchy.

Really, you're not excited about the Chris Pine part? But I think he'll be so hilarious! I have no idea whether he can sing, but the princes do a lot of talk-singing anyway, so I figure it will probably be okay. Huh. Interesting. I am crossing my fingers that it's good, because so far there are several people I like attached to it. I have zero expectation that it will be as good as the original, though.

Yeah I don't know why that one isn't working for me - I mean I think he would in theory make a GREAT Prince...I guess it's just general nervousness around casting "big names" in musicals. I still haven't seen Les Mis. Heh.

I was a High School Musical Virgin until just this minute, and I'm not sure if what I'm feeling is amusement or regret, but I will say that I have NEVER seen a rebellious teen dance number with GOLF before. omg.

Mostly it made me miss Footloose. *g*

HEEE. Yes, there are also dance numbers in those movies that involve basketball, and baseball. AS YOU DO. I... I want to love those movies, because I think the kids in them are really talented, but (based on the second one, anyway, which is the only one I've seen all the way through) I have to say I mostly just want better things for everybody. Hee. STILL. "Bet On It" makes me laugh every single time, so at least there's that!

When I saw your tags I totally just assumed you were going to be talking about an OC Newsies AU! Think about it though. Seth and Ryan were born to wear those outfits.

Also I DO feel that Zac Efron's facial expressions are a PART of the problem...which I say as someone who loves Zac Efron! Maybe I just wish he'd gotten better direction?

OH MY GOD YES. Though who is who? I can see valid reasons for either of them to be either Jack or David! Like, Ryan is more of a rebel, but he's also the quiet one! Seth is good with words, but he's also the more outgoing one! (There's no singing in Chino! Or dancing, or laughter!)

And I do agree that Zac Efron's facial expressions do not help the "Bet On It" situation. IDK, I have found him super charming in other things, but yes, he is sort of an awkward turtle (which is one of the things I like about him)!
