Oooh, the looking out the window of a train description is SO spot on! And I'll be curious how you come to like this one! I will confess that I haven't bought the last few, and should probably start updating, even if the old songs still resonate so hard.

Yeah, like I said, his last few albums have been covers/adaptations, so it's not quite the same thing, but they're still good. Ghost Repeater (his last original album) is great; I'd definitely recommend that if you don't have it yet. It's got a wonderful blend of sweet (but not saccharine) love songs and his more typical existential fare. And hopefully the new one will grow on me--there are a few songs I LOVE already, but it will be interesting to see with the other ones. :)

Also there's a Redbird live album that came out a few months ago that is MAGICAL, if you're into them.

Yes indeed! I saw him open for BB King, in fact, yeeeeears ago. And I believe he and JF toured together at one point, for obvious reasons. :)
