YOU SHOULD TOTALLY DARE. ♥ Obviously there are--at last count--approximately 159875230980000 things I adore about you, from your awesome hair and brilliant-quirky brain down to your badass boots (not to mention your impeccable taste in rock 'n' roll music), but. Couple of things: for one, I'm just really proud of you in general. And it feels impossible to say that without being condescending, so please know that's not how I mean it at all, but. You've had some shit to deal with over the past few years, big life decisions and big life questions and I know how hard that is to deal with, and you've pushed through and kept trying and you're doing such great things and I just see you becoming more and more kick-ass all the time (and you were pretty damn kick-ass to begin with!), and I admire that so much. Also, I love how much you care about your campers and your students, and how important it is to you to make their lives better in whatever way you can. HMMM LET ME THINK. :) So, just to choose a couple of things: you're an extremely awesome mom, for one, and Puplet is very lucky to have you. ♥ And the many ways you find to express your feelings--to your friends and loved ones, and/or about your enthusiasms--are so wonderful; you give straight from the heart, even when it's a risk, and I admire that so much. (Also, I really appreciate your patience and generosity of spirit, this past year especially; I know I haven't always been the easiest person to deal with and I really really appreciate you hanging in there. ♥ I don't know what I'd do without you!)

Well, aside from how I really love your writing, I also think the stuff you do for fandom is fantastic, from your consistency in leaving feedback to your incredibly helpful rec lists (which I have consulted dozens and dozens of times, in a wide variety of fandoms) to the Remix thing, which... I can't even imagine what an enormous undertaking that is. The fannish infrastructure stuff can be difficult and is often fairly thankless, but I absolutely appreciate your contributions on that side, as well as on the fic-writing side. ♥

And you did not ask for a thing I like about you, but you commented and so you are therefore fair game: obviously you are one of my favorite people in the world; I was looking back through my journal recently and ran across the entry where I was trying to decide whether to join in on the (for me) very early morning HCL viewing during that fateful Canada Day weekend marathon, and for the hundredth time, I was SO GLAD that I did, and that I met you thereby. I love a million things about you, but I'll just pick a couple: your delicious sense of fun, and your great passion for the things you care about, as well as the way those two things combine, so you can be hilarious or serious (or both!) as the occasion warrants. (Though of course I would enjoy your posts more without the jokes.) Basically, I adore you and even though I'm sad all the time that you're so far away, just knowing you're out there makes my life better. *SMISH*

YOUUUUU. I don't even know where to start! You are, in very fact, the goddess of my idolatry: one of my favorite writers, the person who gets my silly Shakespeare jokes, the intrepid travelling companion who'll drive through the mountains with me with the Headstones going full blast (or through the PATH, giggling the whole way), the person I can spend a week in a car with and have it just make me want to hang out with you more, and the person whose brain I'd eat first in the zombie apocalypse. (What? Is that creepy?) Not to mention how you kick ass at pretty much everything you do, even when it scares you. You bring the win field with you wherever you go, and I'm grateful beyond words to have you in my life. *MWAH*
