I have the same reaction to Benji while rewatching bits of season 2. He was so bushy tailed and eager to please and looking for approval. I want to pet him on the head. Yes, Donyelle was really good for him (I don't mean that in a 'ship sense).

I rewatched Nico's clip from 1.21, the last ep before the finale (48:46 to be precise, yes, I checked, I'm this pathetic). They show his reaction to being picked for top 20 and the reveal with the curtain/drapery. He has this smile on his face and kind of nods his head down when he comes from behind the curtain. It's adorable. It kills me.

Yeah, Benji has not worn well with me since S2, but then? He was pretty adorable. And yeah, it's funny how he and Donyelle are SO AWESOME together, yet I don't ship them at all. Same thing with Natalie and Musa, actually, except they are also totally sexass together, yet I still get a really strong friendsy vibe from them. (Same with Nico and Natalli, in fact.) I guess it makes me feel better about the many, MANY couples I DO ship from that show. Heee. (Not that the show doesn't TOTALLY encourage us. Sometimes to a degree that's kind of hard to watch, like... Courtney and Gev? ADORABLE, yet I would imagine that having a crush on your gorgeous dance partner would be awkward enough without being TEASED about it on NATIONAL TV, particularly in the course of rehearsing a dance where you are required to grab said partner's ass. Thanks for the link. It sucks how CTV doesn't let us watch the videos, though... I guess it's payback time for all those American websites that don't let international users watch things. Boo.

Also? I am TOO OLD to audition for the Pinup Saints (age 18-25 hotties only, baby). WOE. (Though, um, Nico? Is 24. Does this mean that in a year, HE's going to be too old for his own group? HMMM?)

I watch SYTYCD with my kids (it's one of our "family shows") and season 2 is our all-time favourite season, hands down. We loved the dancers (at least the top 12) and their chemistry, and the obvious fun and cameraderie they were sharing, and most especially BENJI!

It is just so so happy-making! I think S3 is still my favorite (well, maybe tied with the Canadian S1), but S2 has been fantastic. We actually discovered the show at about the Top 14 of that season, so watching it again from the beginning has been really fun. Such an amazing group, and such great dancers, and yes, the fun and camaraderie is one of my favorite things about the show. Normally I'm not a big fan of reality shows because they tend to focus a lot on conflict... this is SUCH a breath of fresh air in that way, and being able to love the dancers AND their dancing is just win-win!
