I decided to bike to steelyard, and then figured I'd check out the path. I didn't know how big the section was, and I just picked it up at the end of the commons (north end I think?) and took it through the double tunnel, figured I'd see where it would go. Was shocked to find myself going back up the hill! How far down does it go on the other side?
People are trying to get them to connect the towpath all the way to wendy park on whiskey island. I hope they find the funding to do this. I haven't actually been down the towpath, but I intend to try it this summer. :)
I also wish I had an easier time finding good cycling maps. Last night I learned that Lorain county has bike lanes down lake! This made me very happy and made me want to bike there more.
The stretch to the south barely goes past the Target, maybe another 50--100 yards.
My quest for good bike maps led me to NOACA's collection, which is just awesome. As a warning, the pdf downloads are huge, and tend to cause my poor laptop to choke (dunno how well a newer machine might handle them). Supposedly, they're also available for order, or at "some local bike shops."
