Most people don't know, but St. Patty's Day is typically only a holiday for the Irish Catholics amongst us. We Protestants are symbolized by the orange part of the Irish flag. Part of my ancestry is Scots-Irish, but I'm not particularly proud of how or why my family made the move to the Emerald Isle: as a tool of the British to Anglicize the population. Of course, that was several centuries ago, so I'm not to worried about it. Also, as you know, I'm mostly German.
But you're right; let's wear the white and raise a glass of the water of life to peace.
