Hotel Zara. Stayed there with Annie and co last Feb. Room was a decent size, with nice bathroom and painted ceilings! Good location, and with a deli underneath the hotel - you can imagine my delight! Cheap, cheerful and friendly. And the desk clerk has a bottle opener if you want to have some pre-dinner drinkies in your room :)
Hotel Franklin Feel the Sound. Not right in the centre, but near enough - and there's a fantastic restaurant opposite. Plus there's a glitterball in the bathroom and drums for bedside tables. What more could you want? ;-)
It's a B&B rather than hotel, but I can really recommend Alice in Wonderland. Not toally central, but close to the tube, and run by Elkie and Max who'll give you all the local things to do in the world ever should you wish!
ps, I've got a list of things to see from someone who studied classics and someone else who studied archeaology.. I'll dig it out!

Our room was small I will admit but we were never in it, the bathroom was beautiful and the location made up for the small room!
