It's not large, it's not grand. It's small and simple, reflecting the one who lives within. There's a small step up right in front of the door where several pairs of slippers wait for guests and the owner to arrive, a closet next to it housing coats and umbrellas. The walls are all the same cream color and the floors the same warm hardwood. The kitchen to the right is small and cramped but clean; the fridge filled with water and fruits, cupboards with: tea leaf containers, ramen packages, and a few surplus store sized boxes of trail mix. The owner eats out a lot more frequently than one might suspect but healthier when he does.
Washroom and bathroom are to the left and are the only "rooms" with different decor; light blue with the ceramic objects (tub, toilet, sink) in a darker blue. Instead of a traditional squatting toilet there is a Western toilet located in the separate little room. In the washroom the very deep tub also serves as a shower with the water cascading from a shower head directly above it and keeping the water in is a rather sheer shower curtain.
The main room is exactly that, a room with most of it taken up by a kotatsu table set in the middle of it, currently missing its futon in the summer months. A futon-couch currently "wearing" the owner's school uniform is against one wall while the other has a floor to ceiling bookcase/desk combination. Shelves are stacked with random books, a small TV & DVD player, a iPod Home station, AT parts, DVDs, and schoolwork. A bright yellow backpack is hooked onto the back of the rolling office chair, crammed full with school books.
In the corner nearest the kitchen one will find a battered but decent second-hand guitar with a slightly dusty amp. Most of the wall space is covered with posters and photos of various music groups (RADWIMPS, SOUR, LM.C, 3B LAB.☆S, SADIE, and SuG) as well as sky shots at different times of the day, a few look like they might have been taken by the owner in flight. The main closet in the room serves that purpose, keeping a spare futon and blankets alongside clothing normally worn by the owner. A very narrow balcony that doesn't hold much but a clothesline is outside the double doors, it can seat two or three adults sitting Indian style comfortably.
Still it has an amazing (if noisy) view of the city at night, one of the selling points of the place.
Names on the door - can only be added by owner of room; permission to enter whenever
