Went from 2.98 to 3.23 overnight here in N. MI. I'm so looking forward to the next person that complains at the counter about their tankful when I'm paying for mine. My response will be something along the line of "Ya Know? Put a guy in office whose best buddies are oil guys and this is what you get!". I know it's sophistry but there's still so many W-04 stickers on rides around here, and thats always good for mild tourettes on my part...Just glad when ever I can get a (presumed) friendly dig in where it needs to be dug. 9 Billion in profits reported by Exxon...Oh oh, gotta go, feeling another tourettes siezure coming on!

Define "northern Michigan".

For a recovering Yooper like me, "northern" Michigan is anything above the bridge. =o)

I frequent one of the lowest-priced places in Madison, and within a week, prices went from $2.85 to $2.95. This morning, it was $3.05.

We've addressed this before but no problem and you're right, The UP is the true northern Michigan in logic whereas where I live is more really Upper Southern or Northern Lower Michigan. Just like a troll to fluff this up, eh? 8^)

I relate to Madison as the Ann Arbor of Wisconsin. Moved here 17 years ago from A2. Sometimes I still miss it there.

Never been to Ann Arbor, but I'll accept it as a compliment.

Yeah...Ypsilanti is in "northern" Michigan. AS IF! =o)

Here in Toronto, Regular is about $1.05 per litre, which works out to about $3.59, US dollars per US gallon. I stopped at Shell yesterday and was offered the choice of Regular at about that price, containing 10% ethanol, or mid-test at about $1.10/litre, containing 5% ethanol, or high-test at about $1.15/litre, containing no ethanol. This is in response to our bonebrained Premier having mandated an annual average of 5% ethanol in all gasoline sold in the province, effective 1/1/07. Ethanol contains less energy than gasoline, and therefore reduces fuel economy. I didn't have a calculator with me to try and work out the maths, so I just grumbled and bought the low-test with the 10% ethanol, knowing my money wouldn't take me as far but unsure whether buying the high-test would've made economic sense.

But grumble though I may, I'm not in Vancouver ($1.28/litre = US$4.36/gallon, low-test) or Newfoundland ($1.30/litre = US$4.43/litre, low-test). Or London, England, for that matter (£0.945/litre = $7.15/gallon, low-test).

I know...we've got it pretty good compared to some places.

Still stings, though.

Looks to me that Canada is not free of dim witter conservative leaders either.

It's been between 3.40 and 3.50 here in SF for the past several months. The thing is that it's NOT climbing now, though...it's been holding steady for a while.
