Nice story but... anonymous January 3 2011, 16:34:39 UTC
You do know that's not true about blood right? Blood is never blue, not even the blood in the veins. The reason veins appear blue is due to the refraction of light against the blood in veins when filtered through the skin. To quote wiki "Veins in the skin appear blue for a variety of reasons only weakly dependent on the color of the blood. Light scattering in the skin, and the visual processing of color play roles as well."
Please don't take this the wrong way - you're story is very cute. There is no blame in believing this widely held myth. Wiki blood to see more information.
Keep with the ff! thanks.

wow! i totally believed that myth...for the first 25 years of my life, i wonder why it has permeated so far into every one's consciousness that i didn't even think twice about seeing it here, in fact i've put some thought into vulcan blood BASED off of this myth.... hmmmm.... i always wondered if because the red in our blood comes from the oxygenated iron in it (rusty colored ya know) if the blood in vulcans would actually be closer to copper colored (golden brown) like copper before it is oxidized to become green.

LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY.... and usually more than one thing if you're reading awesome fanfic, thanks to both the author and who-ever didn't want to own up to this con-crit for the food for thought

Hmmm... I guess red (oxygenated) plus dark red/maroon (deoxygenated, according to the various sources I've perused w/i the past few minutes) could make purple just as well...

Honestly, the only reason I added that bit was to fight the stereotype that Spock's erection is the most beautiful shade of green one can ever imagine. What if it's not? That's okay (it'd be okay with me, at least); I'd still love to spend some quality time with it.

Anyway, thanks for the concrit! I appreciate it a lot. You don't need to be anonymous because I think you phrased your concern and info very well. So thanks! I'll see about editing that.

Thanks! I tried to make it realistically awkward because it's an insane situation. I was trying to avoid the concept that everything will be easy for them as long as they are screwing. Well, that's ridiculous! It'll be hot for them as long as they're screwing, but it won't be easy to build a new relationship and be good parents with nothing but a three-day warning!

Seriously, this has been and remains one of my all-time favourite feel-good K/S fics. Everything about it makes me happy. EVERYTHING.
