Oh, nothing so severe; it's just that every time I get about two-hundred words in on a story and decide it's not going to work, I open a new file with a filename one greater.

And you are ahead of me on the Christmas present front. Well, I have bought all that I will buy, but unfortunately I'm not yet finished with the frelling Celtic pattern I'm using to decorate a cheap IKEA thing to make it something I'm less ashamed to give. (approximately 200% of my intended Christmas present fund went into vet costs, leading to this kind of arts and crafts scramble, otoh at least it was fortunate that I procrastinated on buying stuff...)
