Blythe especially should read this

On this blog entry, commenter Leia says

Chris, I’m feeling powerfully sexually attracted to you right now. This despite the fact that 1) I’ve never seen you, 2) I don’t know you, and 3) I haven’t even read your blog before.

Can evolutionary psychology explain this?

which pretty much sums up my response. *swoon*

oh, *thank you* for that link!

it was so brilliant that I was moved to comment on a blog hosted by a system other than LiveJournal. also, I may have offered to have his babies. do you think he'd be interested in keeping a harem?

Well, that would maximize his changes for spreading his genes, so I don't think he'll be able to resist his genetic programming!

That blog entry made my weekend. I get so sick of stupid so-called 'studies show' articles. Some of them even make the BBC. They usually demonstrate (by way of asking six female friends of the researcher/twelve women and a bloke working in an office in Hull/seven girls smoking outside the Safeways in Kensington), that all women want is [insert sexist crap here].

I tagged that on del.icio.us (after much guffawing) with "timely satire". I'm pleased it is getting linked in the wider blogosphere :)

Locus taedius! I wonder if the expression of the luz-R gene is most clearly shown in older men, like James Watson.

Chris Clarke is my hero. I really need to read his blog more often.

He's delivered two of my top three favourite elegant smack-downs, now. I may have to give and admit I read his blog.
