I once was not so suck at javascript!

But with much cussing, I've gotten lj instant tag to work on insane journal. It's quite a nice script and much handier than lj's default method of allowing tagging, IMHO, so here it is with my changes
// ==UserScript ( Read more... )

geekery: lj, fandom: oh wait panic!

That's useful, though otoh I kind of dislike things that make retagging easier, because it ruins the tracking of new posts by tags (which is also why I try not to pick tags later. Sometimes when someone posts a lot and I only want to follow their fiction for example and they tag consistently I just pick the tracking option. Only unfortunately half the time I miss stuff, because some people post first and then pick tags in a second step and there's no notifications for that. :(

Ah. I'm using it because a lot of tags got lost when transferring entries, and this seemed a far easier way of redoing them.

Personally I wish LJs tagging interface was just better and would sugggest me tags like on other services. With some of my tags I always forget whether I shose singular or plural, or how I ordered the sub-levels, i.e. was it scans: dc or dc: scans? (the whole mess being of course only necessary since LJ still sucks so much that they don't have an AND for their tags, somthing I will never stop whining about *g*). It's a nuisance.

Although it's always better to have it built in, you can accomplish something similar with this greasemonkey script: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/6828

Wow, this is really awesome! Is there any chance you could update it to work on Dreamwidth, too? If not I might be able to figure it out, but this stuff's all Greek to me...
