Oh, I tried something similar with wget once, but I didn't come up with such neat exclusion rules so it downloaded a bunch of crap that didn't seem to end and I eventually aborted.

Hope you don't mind--I plan to rec this on my LJ. Thanks for the tips on how to...migrating away from LJ has a lot of folks very nervous.

One quick question - you mentioned that HTTrack can't see anything I can't see when I'm logged out... does that mean it won't save any of my memories that are FLocked? And if so, is there any way around that?

Yeah, any memories that lead to a flocked post are invisible, and will have to be File--> Save as to keep. I'm sorry, I don't know of any other way, although there may be one.
