"I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each...

I do not think that they will sing for me."

Boy, am I feeling J. Alfred Prufrock-ish these days! "I grow old, I grow old." I know, everyone is getting older these days, even the little gaffers. But it's hard to age gracefully when you still want to catch frogs and read Archie comics in bed while eating ketchup chips. I guess I don't feel like ( Read more... )

I feel I should take this moment to tell you that you really need to write a book someday. Your posts are always entertaining and extremely well-worded.

Yes, I you did, I just haven't written you back. At least, I think you did, because I remember you asking about the oatmeal. Or was that on LJ? Hm, I can't remember now.

Reading me gave me flashbacks to being at the Old Spaghetti Factory.

If you're still worrying about being a grown up, then you don't need to worry about being there. It'll just sort of happen one day. You'll wake up, realize that your younger self would probably look at you in disappointment, but find that it doesn't bother you as much as it should.

Now, then: the next time you're in town, you can come and play with the My Little Pony castle that I'm getting with my next paycheque. (I'm also getting the play tent. Clarice and I are going to have so much FUN!)

Thanks Ape. It's comforting, now and then, to be reminded that my petty crises are really just long-term neuroses. ;-)

But onto more serious matters: can we really play My Little Pony in your play tent? Yay! I get to be the one with the lucky shamrock on her ass! Neigh! Neeeeigh!

I haven't yet brought up the one with the lucky shamrock! You can be the one with seashells on her bum. Would that be okay?

(Dave doesn't know that I'm getting the tent. I figure that I'll just pick it up and have it all put together by the time he gets home. Everybody loves surprises, yes?)
