Yet another tariff slapped upon Canada by the USA. This time it's on our wheat exports: apparently we're dumping. It is widely known that the United States government subsidizes its farmers far more heavily than the Canadian government does - indeed, our farmers are always complaining of the fact, saying that they are at a disadvantage. There are reports in Singapore's papers about how the States wants to 'punish' countries that did not support them in the Iraq war. Of course France tops that list, and I read that Canada is one of the countries picked, but definitely to a lesser extent.

It makes me wonder why the States still view themselves as the epitome of freedom, when they expect the rest of the world to agree with everything they do and say.

In many ways, yes. Sadly. Although, I guess considering the alternatives, it's not so bad. I imagine when America stops being the greatest, wheat tariffs will be the least of our concerns.
