Several angry letters appeared in the University newspaper in response to the
graphic anti-abortion displays last week. With one exception, they were quite heated and irate. I was impressed by that one exception, however, and in particular by the following statement:

That was a perfectly concise, intelligant, non-offensive comment on BOTH sides of the issue and exactly what I have been trying to muster out of my head since I saw that campaign. I think I said it in my emotionally charged rant before, that it's not always the selfish woman's fault. There are pressures, circumstances, outside factors that affect the desicion to commit such an act.
I wish you'd send that to the paper. Or at least turn it into an article, or something!
I'm reasonably certain that Love is the cure, and I don't mean kissy kissy (or bang bang bang).
...I dunno. Hashmir makes bang bang bang sound like a pretty good cure to me.

However, I like what you said: "If I say I am pro-Life, I want it to mean more than anti-abortion. I want it to be a statement that I am enthusiastically involved in bettering the human experience for as many people as I can, myself included. I call that love". Very good point. Compassion and patience are the two most important things to have when being an advocate. FOr the women, the babies, the fathers. Everyone.
I don't think shock value will change minds about abortion. Rather, I think that the conversations we have in coffee shops with our friends will. I think that the conversation with the person during the plane trip will. Those kinds of things, even if they take time, will save the babies and mothers.
