Relationships, almost by definition, require a flow in two directions. Professional, personal, private; it doesn't matter. Each party must give and each party must take. Anything else is parasitic

With regard to the last comment, I need to work on that myself. I have a strong proclivity for silence due to the fact that I've trained myself to try to weigh my words before speaking. Unfortunately, what tends to end up happening is that I do not speak a word, for by the time I've sufficiently crafted the words that I want to speak, the time to utter them has passed, and so...silence.
