i'm sorry to hear school is crazy. unfortunately, i know about that reality all too well! to echo "finding nemo,"..."just keep swimming." i know you can do it
( ... )
Thanks! I am sure everything will work out for the best- it's just hard right now.
lol Being emo on Valentine's Day? Very original! ;) You should try to enjoy the day. I don't hate it I just don't like what it's become. I have a whole rant on this subject but I'll spare you.
I'm glad you liked the movie! I love it!!!! I kinda want to go see it again..... *blushes*
Love can crochet and it's beautiful and I love it and please feel free to McVomit all over because I seriously don't even like leaving my room without it. :D
Hi :) I just happened to read this and thought I'd leave a note - coming from a fellow music major here, if you haven't already sold your soul to buy Finale, I suggest looking on eBay. When I was in university I found a brand new copy on there for about $100. Still expensive, but much more reasonable! I wish I still had the installation CDs so I could share with you, but I sold them after I graduated.
Anyways, random friendly advice! And I hope school's been going better since you posted this. Being a music major is a crap load of work - but you can do it! And it's worth it, cause it's a lot of fun too. :)
lol I sold my soul to the $10 download of finale notepad. As of right now, it's enough to let me do my projects in my room and then take them to our midi lab to tweak them on the full version. But thanks for the advice and I'll keep it in mind if the time comes that I need to give in and get the whole program!
What did you end up doing with your music degree? I am so excited. I love school. Even though it's a ton of work and kicks my ass most of the time, I always love it. I think that's a sign that I'm doing what I should be doing.
I loved school too - and I'm glad you're liking it! I think that's definitely a sign you're headed in the right direction. And music is the kind of thing where it's all or nothing - you can't not be dedicated!
I work as box office manager for a small opera company now, and I love it (heh, most of the time anyway!). I'm not exactly using my degree all that much, but I'm still surrounded by the arts and get to have a role in all the backstage admin-type workings. So I'm pretty happy. I always thought I'd be a performer or play for a professional orchestra, and I was really frustrated when I couldn't, but I discovered along the way that there are SO many different music-related careers out there.
That sounds like a fantastic job! It's great that you enjoy your work. Some day when I'm all growed up I'll be a choir director. I can't wait! I am so excited for my future! Which a lot of people- even people in school who know what they want to do- aren't excited for their future careers. Which is sad.
Why can't you perform in a professional ensemble? It doesn't have to be your full-time career. Can't it just be something you do on the side?
