I am.  Worried.  I have obvious concerns about Jason's mental state which do not bear repeating ( Read more... )

Master Bruce, need I remind you about the password you have set for the clock entrance? Stones and glass houses.

As obsessed as Master Jason seems to be with killing the Joker, it should really be no surprise that his password would be the date of his death.

The clock is something I did many years ago, Alfred. I'm had more then a few years to come to grips with my feelings. Jason on the other hand has not.

Then perhaps I should make the observation that the clock password could be changed?

I understand your worry, obsessing about it will do neither yourself nor Jason any good.

Of course, asking you not to brood is akin to asking you not to breathe. Just do not let this affect your own health.

It. Never occurred to me to change it.

How can you ask me not to? I've already written him off once since his. Return. Many of the current issues are my fault.

I'm with Alfred on this one. I mean, let's look at some of the possibilities:

1) He did it a long time ago, because when he did, his memory wasn't the greatest and he needed something easy to remember. (We don't know how he came back from the dead but isn't that usually kinda traumatic?)

2) He did it because he knew what you set the clock combination to. It's a kind of weird homage/flattery...

3) He did it because he expected you to hack the drive eventually and he wanted to twist the knife a little deeper. Congratulations are in order. He just got a rise out of you.

4) Alright. You win. It's hinting at something serious. HOWEVER, we've got an expert on hand. We're not burying our heads in the sand. We're not going to get caught offguard.

In other words, you could be reading too much into this and even if you aren't, we're taking steps to deal.

You. Are making sense. Yet I can't bring myself to be blasé about this.

And I'm not saying you should be. I'm saying that it's not necessarily a sign of anything major. Maybe just mention it to J'onn--see what he thinks.

Pity we can't ask Jay directly. Well. we could, but I don't think we'll get a straight answer...

I will ask him. He is already angry with me. Putting him on the defencive with someone else won't help anything.

...Everything Dick said, with a side of "we're all really morbid around here sometimes."

You. That is how you feel, Tim?

Bruce--yes. Think about it. Where does your mind go when you get lost in your own head? Is it to the happy times, or is it to the people you couldn't help?

I. Try to focus on what I can accomplish. Some times I allow myself teh luxury of reviewing the names and faces of those I have helped.
