SQL Server 2005

I just today got SQL Server 2005 Trial working on SAPPHIRE. It was my first opportunity to test-drive the new system. The installer is a bit counter-intuitive, being rather different than 2000's, but other than that it has some nice features, such as explicit scans of prerequisites and other checks. So apps made to connect to any sql environ via odbc can't now?

They can -- they just need the new set of ODBC drivers for SQL 2005. The old OLEDB drivers don't work anymore.

We are also playing with it here. We haven't had time to do much lately though because we're right now at this very moment putting out the new DMT.

Yeah, as far as I can tell this new system will have some very profound implications for basic methodology, but they're not paying me to solve that problem. (yet).

I think you're crazy. SQL 2005 supports OLE DB and has DTS just fine... Where in the world are you getting your information from?
