Ficlet: The Haddocks are Lithuanian (Snape/Lupin, G)

May 26, 2006 19:43

I told aunty_marion I would write her something with eggplant and fish if she'd let me swipe this icon. Here it is.

[377-ish words, established relationship, G. An offshoot of pixychelle's Through the Looking Glass outtake. It started out as futurefluff but then somehow veered into another direction. *is flummoxed by own brain*]

Snape shuddered theatrically as Lupin added more mustard to the cheese sauce. )

eggplant, snape, lupin, snupin

“You still don’t understand, do you,” he said, his voice dangerously low. “That I would do anything for you.”

*flails*
*flails even harder because Severus really won't get it within the story's time frame*

I was going to quote more lines, and then I realized that I'd be quoting EVERYTHING. *flails incoherently all over the place instead*

Bah. Why should I bother finishing TtLG now?

:P

(I mean, the line "Do not ask me to guard your soul for you"? I very nearly put something similar into the end of chapter 24, except that I thought it sounded too hopeful about having a relationship with Remus for Severus at that point.

This fits so ridiculously well with how I would forsee their relationship after the story.)

And haha, my crack-fluff-turning-serious problem is contagious.

Easy on the flailing, there. Still need you to be able to type for four more nights. ;-)

Um, because I will personally haunt and hound you until Prufrock/peach materialises? ;-)

Is it ever. *peers at my list of works-in-stasis. Think I'll go to bed instead.*

Glad you liked it. *hugs*

*flails*

Oh, adorable!

“There are things I cannot touch,” Lupin murmured - and still things he/they can't or won't say. But so much is still there to be read between the lines.

You know, it just struck me, when I realised you'd used a capital H...

According to Wikipedia, "Captain Haddock [is] a seafaring captain of French ancestry..."
