Well, I sort of took six of them and didn't tag anyone or make any new questions. But at least I semi-participated! I'm always starting memes and then running out of time and being forced to abandon them, squalling, at the side of the road. This time I actually posted something.

This happens to me, too! Usually I run into a question that reminds me that I'm probably twenty years older than the originator of the meme, and/or one that makes me respond with "None of your damn business, whelp!"

Mais oui... although I also hope to visit Brussels someday, and maybe parts of Africa (my college French teacher was in love with Senegal), and to return to Montreal and Ile d'Orleans (one of the best means EVER chez Le Canard Huppé. (Africa and Canada not so much with the transportation, to be sure, but I'm an optimist and it'll probably be at least a decade before I get myself across the Atlantic again.)

What about Quebec City? It's older and quainter than modern Montreal. My sister, who has lived and worked in Brussels and Quebec City, described Quebec City as a little piece of Europe plunked down in the middle of Canada.

However, I'm sure the transportation probably sucks. Though maybe not. Public transportation used to suck in Vancouver, but in the past couple of years, it got a lot better.

We spent part of our honeymoon in QC, in fact. I agree with your sister's assessment, and it's probably been long enough (i.e., over 17 years ago) for lots of new things to show up there... Hmmmm.... (everything this year is going to be stateside, though. Darn budgets, darn deadlines...)
