Poor Jennsen - and it's so sweet that she can feel the wisp and a magical moment when she can hear it! It goes so nicely with the illustration. A lovely piece :D

I don't think I did the picture justice, but these days I'm just glad to get anything written. I don't want Pris to feel bad though - like I trashed her picture with a crappy fic or something. That's what I'm worried about.

Any fic in character that isn't littered with major spelling/grammar errors is a decent rather than crappy fic. And I think you've captured the relationship between Jennsen and Darken nicely here on top of that and created a very sweet moment, nicely offset by Kahlan's behaviour.

If someone makes me artwork for a fic or were to write fic for something else I'd created I'd feel pleased to have inspired someone :D Which I think is roughly what Pris said at the post where there were concerns about riffing off other people's work. The original creator ought to be thrilled more at the effort than the overall quality.

And absolutely it's good to get anything written :D But don't be so hard on yourself!

You're right about the 2nd part. I was certainly thrilled when Pris used one of my fics for her inspiration.

It's just the anxiety/insecurity crawling through my veins again and taking over. This is the first thing I've written in ages, with the exception of a prompt fill for Riona, which I only e-mailed to her.

Sorry for whining, and thanks for the kind, encouraging words.

Darken and Richard's quarrel, Richard and Kahlan so entitled (especially Kahlan), and Jennsen getting to hear the wisp! I also love that she took charge at the end.

A lovely piece showing the bonding between Jennsen and Darken and also the difficulty of being pristinely ungifted - you made me feel for Jennsen so much here :D

I loved the picture so much, and I wanted to make this work with the fact of Jennsen being Pristinely Ungifted. I also wanted it to be a bonding moment for Darken and Jennsen, so it really had to be in an AU after the end of the show.

I was worried that I made Kahlan a little too flighty, but we all have our silly - and selfish - moments, so I figured she could, too.

I haven't posted any fic in like forever, because my brain just hasn't been working right. But I've always loved that picture, and was hoping to find some way of telling a decent story inspired by Darken, Jennsen and Wisp.

(Wanted to find a Darken/Jennsen gif, but couldn't. ;_;)

Oh this was beautiful. Not crappy at all. I like the family atmosphere and the magic. It makes sense that a culture in a place with magic everywhere would have a tradition like this.

I wanted to set the story after canon, so I could make them a family - probably not very realistic, but what I'd like to see happen.

The tradition was actually implied in Pris's artwork. I just sort of took it a little further.

I like the developing relationship between Jennsen & Darken and the way you reflected Richard & Kahlan as a lovey dovey couple, pushing Jennsen away is similar to the AU in 'Unbroken'.

I wasn't deliberately writing Richard/Kahlan pursuant to Unbroken - but I can see the similarities in how Jennsen is treated - sort of like an afterthought. And I did want it to be a Jennsen/Darken bonding fic.

I just love this picture, but didn't think I would be able to write anything for the chalenge. But then Friday night I just forced myself to start writing and see what happened.
