I ordered a pair of shoes. They are not quite what I expected, and I am considering sending them back for an exchange.

Friendslist, which do you like better --

these

or these?

I kind of like the first one better.

I like the second ones better. I think they'd be great for work, but can also dress down. The first ones seem too casual. Of course, if what you're looking for is purely "bumming around" shoes, go for the first pair.

I like both. And you know my unforgiving viewpoint on shoes.

Hm, well, neither has a heel to speak of.

Would a heel make walking more comfortable?

I wear only those shoes in which I could comfortably walk many miles if I had to.

The second pair is in fact the one in my possession. It has a slightly slippy sole, which worries me, and is more plasticky than I expected. I am considering exchanging for the first pair which looks to have a more grippy sole and be generally more practical.

Comments here have, however, made me question whether the first is, in fact, more practical. Hm.

Second pair - Aixia makes a good point about being able to use them both for casual and work purposes.
