I was thinking it was a Magic Mirror malfunction! Kinda like a Transporter malfunction on Star Trek except those would usually kill you.

Magic mirror malfunction works for me (props for alliteration!). Twilight and Shimmer collided in mid stream by entering the mirror from opposite ends at the same time! Aaaaah! They're nekkid!
