IV is short for the InterVarsity Choral Festival, MIV being one held in Melbourne. All the Uni Choral Societies around Australia are affiliated, and we have an annual festival that rotates around the different cities of Australia, on a more-or-less seven year cycle. 2012 is Melbourne's turn to host.

I have a question about the suitability of your candidacy:

As an energetic go-getter, who gets up at 5:30 to go to body-pump classes, whilst holding down a full time job and looks after kiddly-winks as well, how can you possibly relate to a lazy layabout get up at midday to attend classes on 3 days a week and call it full time go nowhere arts undergrad?

Can you be really be said to embodying the 'Varsity ethos with your pluck and your vigour?

I'll be addressing this and other interesting questions during my campaign speeches. I have a wide ranging experience in lazing about and getting up at midday which has been placed on hold while I pursue other avenues in life, but which I intend to return to in the future.

Also, I am the 4th fastest male sculler in the Intervarsity movement at this time.

That is so exciting Bron!

You will of course be arranging a nanny to help out with the kids while you're knee deep in MIV in 2012, right? And taking two weeks afterwards to destress? Cause I can't imagine how much stress it's going to be!

Kate and I both have fantastic parents who don't realise just what I've signed them up to help us with ;)

Cause of course it means both of you! Twice the fun.

I do hear what you're saying about "are we over IV"? After MIV05 and AIV06 we thought we'd done our time and it was perhaps a good ending to a great thing but time to move on. The SIV and TIV came and went and NOW we're planning on a family participation at PIV and DEFINITELY going to MIV!!
