Well I looked at pictures online. It's beautiful. Some of the statues are a bit disturbing to my taste though. Well, mostly the modern one featuring the torso of a man who seems to be pulling himself from the soil...
I'm glad you had a nice time, despite the weather.

I think we had a nicer time because of the weather! Had it been full-on relentless sunshine, as it had been the previous week, it'd have been just too darn hot!

And we don't do 'hot', particularly H. Not even with regular drink breaks and added salt.

Not sure I remember that statue. Maybe it's a comment on what the gardens were like back in April after all the rain and snow and the washout that was the Easter Bank Holiday weekend!

Do you carry some of those water spray? Totally not ecologic or anything, but sometimes it really helps.

Nope. I generally carry a bottle of fridge-cooled water, more if I'm going a long way.

Found a very useful tip - put some water in a water-bottle. Put it in the freezer overnight at an angle so that the water freezes along the side of the bottle - but doesn't freeze the lid shut!

Then when you need a bottle of really cold water to take with you, warm the lid a bit so it'll open, fill with cold water and you're good to go.

As the ice has a large surface area it'll chill the water really well, really quickly. And keep it cold for a long time. Though you might want to wrap a tea towel round the bottle to absorb condensation on the outside!
