I agree with you re. those anti-bacterial cleaning products. Given that I want to stop using wipes, I've also had a look in my cupboards and found that we have some antibac products there, but I haven't been the one buying them. I go for the bleach-based stuff myself, but my husband is the guilty one, buying the antibac stuff. It doesn't happen too often, because I'm the one doing the shopping (online) but there must have been instances when we had run out and I sent him to the shop. Or instances when he walked past one of those BOGOF or multibuy deals and went 'Ooooh!' I need to make him aware of that (and to make sure we don't run out so he's not the one choosing the products
( ... )
You know, I think men occasionally get 'household chores' - shopping, loading the dishwasher, etc - 'wrong' deliberately. Albeit sub-consciously in some cases, in the hope that we won't ask them to do it again!
I've taken to writing REALLY CLEAR shopping lists and checking H knows what I mean by what's written when he volunteers to go. And he does, usually cos he wants more milk for the 'livestock' - the kefir he brews daily. It's good. So is H!
BTW - I do the majority of the shopping as I do the menu planning and cooking and therefore should know what we need. Either online for 'major' shops or at various places when I'm out for 'bits and bobs' to fill in between.
Antibiotics : not automatic... we've been hearing that for ages in France. Of course, you kind of need for people to actually agree not to use them, instead of nodding their head and go "yeah yeah"..
Maybe it's time to big up the Rise of the Resistant scenario? You know, a TV series, publication in the papers - specially those who seek to address the 'majority' of society.
