Thursday Amalgam

The washing - ended up drying around the dehumidifier.  It was dry yesterday.  It was also very still and cooler, so very little water actually evaporated.  Only H's polo shirt was anything like drier than when I'd pegged out, because poly-cotton.  Gah!  Today the wind is blowing, and I expect it will blow rain clouds our way ( Read more... )

Time is really what we lack, specially when it comes to medicine, while it should be the other way around.. just taking time to do things properly..

Like I said, the NHS has been cut and cut and cut by successive governments that it's a wonder it's still working.

This past week they've been on Black Alert, i.e.: the whole system is FULL and there is NO ROOM for any more sick people.

This doesn't usually occur until the weather has been cold and there are lots of people with falls and broken bones, and possibly a flu epidemic.

This year this Black Alert owes, one suspects, more to government policy than population illness. Gah!

Yes, well. The present, and previous, government has spent so long telling us that we don't want to pay more taxes. Thus, though they don't tell us this bit, they don't have the money to run everything like they once did.

Hah! It's absence of political will, that's what it is. The Conservatives seem (mostly) happy to break the NHS completely. After all, most of them are rich enough to be able to afford to go private. Unlike most people in the country.

But then, the Conservatives only seem to be interested in rich people.
