Mind The Gap

It begins to look as if the unrest in Burma isn't going to go away.  Which, in the long run, may well be a Good Thing.  What is it with people getting into power & then deciding that they are the ones who matter?  They, & their families & cronies, are the ones who should have everything, & then some, & everyone else in the country ( Read more... )

Well, yeah, everyone's talking about Burma. And it looks like all the world's attention is focused there. Too bad for women in the congo who haven't the resources to be citizen reporters
I'm not saying that the struggle for burmas democracy isn't important, but really, what are our priorities?.

Which all goes to show why wars, particularly the smaller inter-tribal variety, should be stopped & the 'soldiers' retrained to do something useful.

& don't worry about the world's attention being focussed on Burma. News doesn't remain 'News' for more than a few days. Media interest will soon move on, unless something else happens.

Yeah, see I feel kinda bad even saying that I don't think "squeeky wheel" justice is fai;That only the oppressed with reasonable access to technology can make their cause "popular". I'd rather it just go away for selfish reasons I guess.
btw, they did a bit of a blurb on technology and citizen reporting in Burma that you may find interesting on the last off the hook.
