Socks Away!
There we go, 8pm last night I finished grafting the toe of sock no 3, ie: after the Post Office had closed. Off there first thing this morning. When does it open?
Yes, I knitted 3 socks. The pattern for the Socks of Doom is a simple two row repeat. Trouble is it knits up in such a way that you don't notice some mistakes

"Bruce" & "Sheila" are generic names for guys & gals in Oz, like John & Jane Doe (over here it's Smith). I couldn't possibly comment on the weirdness of such names, merely point out that, appart from exported convicts, Oz was largely colonised by ex-pat Scots & Irish (among other Brits). Bruce & Sheila (or Shelagh) being sort of Celtic names.
The Sock Wars anthem I posted in Sunday's blog (the day before the day before this one!)

I think removing the high emphasis on competition is a good idea. I hated that! I'm ok with being "less" than other people, because I know that, truthfully, all people are inherently equal. I don't need to be "better"; It's simple wisdom. When competition (ego)is used as the primary motivator, it destroys that wisdom and punishes the kids that are brave enough to hold on to that wisdom...and then we wonder why they grow up thinking a hgh possition excuses moral indescretions :(

Agreed about "there can only be one", but hey, what a great set of blinders!
